General Committee Report
Day 1:
The committee presented their stance on the use of biological weapons and voiced their dissent. Several formal sessions were dedicated to discussing the war crime trials concerning Japan, with emphasis on the Soviet Union’s significant role. Additionally, they evaluated the effectiveness of current international treaties aimed at preventing biological warfare.
Day 2: Crisis
Update 1 of the crisis reported a mysterious outbreak of a virus at a U.S. military base in Nevada, sparking concerns of a potential biological weapons incident. The severity and nature of the outbreak prompted global speculation. Countries from both Western and Eastern blocs proposed collaboration to contain the illness, while others called for greater transparency from the United States and the Soviet Union in managing the situation.
